Bayern Munich are reportedly considering Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a possible long-term replacement for Harry Kane as uncertainty surrounds the England captain’s future at the club. The Bundesliga champions are monitoring the Galatasaray forward following his strong scoring performances in Turkey.
Bayern Munich are currently in discussions to extend Kane’s contract, but interest from Barcelona and several Premier League clubs has raised questions about the striker’s long-term stay in Germany.
Kane, who is in his third season with the German side, has been highly productive since joining the club, scoring 130 goals in 133 competitive appearances. Despite his impressive record, Bayern’s management are evaluating future options in attack as the 32-year-old approaches the latter stage of his career.
Victor Osimhen has emerged as a key candidate due to his consistent goal-scoring form for Galatasaray. During his first season in Turkey, the Nigerian forward scored 37 goals in 41 matches across all competitions.
In the ongoing campaign, Osimhen has continued his strong form with 10 goals in the Turkish Süper Lig and seven goals in eight UEFA Champions League matches. One of his recent goals helped Galatasaray secure qualification to the Champions League round of 16.
Galatasaray signed the striker for a reported €75 million after a successful loan spell, making it one of the most significant transfers in Turkish football. The Nigerian international remains under contract with the club until June 2029.
Reports indicate that Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has a long-standing admiration for the striker, dating back to Osimhen’s early career in Belgium with Charleroi.
Despite Bayern’s interest, Galatasaray are reportedly reluctant to part with the player. The club is satisfied with his performances and views him as a key asset in their squad.
However, any potential transfer could depend on the financial terms involved, as the striker’s wage demands and a valuation estimated at around €150 million could present challenges for interested clubs.
Osimhen has also previously expressed admiration for Juventus when discussing the possibility of returning to Italy. However, the Nigerian forward has stated that he remains fully committed to his current club.
