Nollywood actress Annie Idibia has clarified her personal status, stating that she is not a single mother but a single woman raising two children. Her comment comes over a year after her separation from music star 2Baba.
Annie shared the statement publicly, writing that she is “not a single mom” but “a single woman raising two kids.” She did not provide further explanation.
The clarification follows the end of her marriage to Nigerian singer 2Baba in 2024. The couple, who were married for more than a decade, share two daughters together.
Their relationship attracted significant public attention throughout the years, partly due to their celebrity status and past controversies surrounding the singer’s previous relationships. Public discussions around their marriage intensified on social media before and after their separation.
Before the marriage ended, Annie and 2Baba appeared on the Netflix reality series Young, Famous & African. During the programme, Annie spoke about the pressures she faced in the marriage, including emotional strain linked to past infidelity.
She also addressed the challenges of navigating a relationship where her husband had children with other women prior to their union. The singer is father to eight children with four different women, a fact that has remained part of public discourse about his private life.
In a recent interview with Voice of Nigeria, 2Baba rejected claims that he is a womaniser, describing the label as a misconception and saying he simply loves deeply.
Despite developments in her personal life, Annie continues to pursue acting projects and brand partnerships. 2Baba also remains active in the music industry, maintaining a career that has spanned more than 20 years.
