The FG seeks the NASS's assistance in resolving Nigeria's issues. To address the numerous economic, social, and political difficulties that Nigeria faces, the federal government has aimed to work in conjunction with the leadership of the 10th National Assembly.

On Friday in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, during a 2-day retreat for the leadership of the 10th national Assembly organized by the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftunh, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima made the call.

The route of division, he claimed, must be avoided because governance is a shared obligation rather than a private one.

He declared, “All of the President’s Chiefs of Staff and Deputy Chiefs of Staff are proud alumni members. My alumni group includes both the First Lady of the Federation and the Secretary to the Federation.

“Undoubtedly, this means that we cannot afford to go to war; not because we will ignore one another’s wrongdoings, but rather because we will deal with people who respect the importance of their profession and won’t ever take you for granted.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured us with a heart of certainty that we are not in government to wage war with the National Assembly, but rather, we are here to collaborate and match towards shared prosperity.”

The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, emphasized the value of cooperation in his speech, stating that Nigeria cannot advance unless the many stakeholders and organizations recognize the necessity of effective cooperation in the nation.

He asserted that it would be incorrect to attribute Nigeria’s problems to the All Progressives Congress, the Peoples Democratic Party, or any other party, and added that the country was experiencing a problem with collective action since the necessary groups and stakeholders had not worked together.

He said, “My friends and colleagues, let us not imagine that the APC, PDP, LP, SDP, or any other party is the cause of our crisis. That is a mistake.

“We can take the initiative in our nation. Let’s work for a common goal. We are currently on the Nigerian boat, regardless of the political party you used to enter the Red or Green Chamber. The Tenth Assembly will succeed in overcoming every obstacle if we all pull together.
