Sanwo-Olu looks for a public-private alliance to address the housing shortage.Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged cooperation between the public and private sectors to address the state’s housing shortage.

The statement was delivered by Sanwo-Olu at the opening of the 101-home Greenwich Gardens Housing Estate project in Ajelogo, within the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of the state.

Sixty-six two-bedroom apartments, twenty three-bedroom terraces, fourteen three-bedroom semi-detached houses, one four-bedroom detached house, and sixty-five residential plots (sites and service scheme) make up the Greenwich Gardens.

Together with the private sector, the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area administration led by Mr. Dele Oshinowo started the estate.

According to the governor, his administration is dedicated to fostering an atmosphere that benefits the private sector and working with developers to build more respectable and reasonably priced housing for locals.

According to Sanwo-Olu, the government is dedicated to finishing all current housing projects and substantially expanding the 19 housing schemes that his administration has already finished.

He claims that the 19 housing complexes are currently offering their citizens decent places to live.

More respectable residences for Lagos residents living in the city will be available in the Greenwich Gardens Housing Estate in Agboyi-Ketu.

Driven by a sincere intention to address the housing shortage in this metropolitan area, this project was implemented through direct budgetary allocation and is expected to contribute significantly to Lagos State’s housing stock.

Without a doubt, this estate will create another living neighborhood and enhance the surrounding area, which will stimulate better economic activity in the area.

This plan has emerged as one of the indisputable proofs of the government led by Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s dedication to the welfare of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA residents.

“I want to implore the prospective landlords to assume responsibility for this project and fervently guard the infrastructure,” he declared.

According to the governor, the government adopted a global housing strategy, which allows individuals to become homeowners through an easy and inclusive financing system that is dependent on their income, because it recognized the difficulties associated with housing in the state.

He claimed that because of the state’s growing population and the need for excellent, reasonably priced housing, the housing market in Lagos State presents enormous prospects for real estate investors.

Sanwo-Olu urged private investors to collaborate with the state’s government in order to address the state’s housing need.

While applauding Mr. Dele Oshinowo, the Chairman of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, and the entire council leadership for finishing the housing estate, he urged all council chairmen to concentrate on housing projects in their respective LCDAs and local governments.

The housing project, according to Mr. Dele Osinowo, Chairman of the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), symbolizes the administration’s imaginative capacity to launch a fresh initiative for grassroots development in the nation.

According to Osinowo, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA was the first grassroots government in Nigeria to use the Public Private Partnership (PPP) idea to start a housing project, as well as a sites and services program.

He says Greenwich Gardens’ completion solves housing shortages and improves the community’s general quality of life.

Agboyi-Ketu Local Authority is now the first in Nigeria to build a residential housing estate using a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework, thanks to Greenwich Gardens.

The project revitalizes a once-notoriety location and boosts local economies, making a substantial contribution to the Lagos State Government’s THEMES+ strategy.

“With visionary leadership, local government can undertake substantial projects for their citizens and the greater good of the nation,” the speaker added. “This project exemplifies the potential of local governance in Nigeria.”
