The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that more than 7.4 million Nigerians have completed their online pre-registration for the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) within just two months of reopening the voter registration exercise.
In a statement released by the Commission, INEC also provided a breakdown of registrations across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), revealing significant regional variations in voter participation.
According to the figures, Borno State currently leads with the highest number of registered voters, while Abia State recorded the lowest turnout so far.

INEC noted that the strong turnout, especially from northern states such as Borno, Kebbi, and Kaduna, reflects growing voter enthusiasm ahead of the next general elections.
The Commission reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and accessible voter registration process, urging Nigerians who have not yet registered to take advantage of both online and in-person registration platforms before the exercise concludes.
