Speaking at an industry gathering organised by the National Film and Video Censors Board, she emphasised that consistent effort and innovation remain critical in a competitive entertainment landscape.
Akindele shared insights from her professional journey, stressing that her achievements were built on years of dedication rather than sudden success. Reflecting on the marketing strategy behind her box office hit, “Battle on Buka Street,” she revealed that limited resources forced her to adopt a digital-first promotional approach. Instead of relying on large-scale advertising campaigns, she created simple video content from home, leveraging social media engagement to build momentum. The unconventional strategy later translated into strong cinema performance.
She noted that the evolving film industry now rewards measurable value and results, urging practitioners to move beyond hierarchy-based thinking. According to her, financial viability and audience acceptance increasingly determine influence in the sector.
