Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has congratulated Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) following his recognition as a Senior Statesman in Dispute Resolution in the Chambers and Partners Global 2026 Rankings. The governor described the honour as a significant milestone for the legal profession in Nigeria and Africa
In a statement issued on Saturday in Ado Ekiti, Oyebanji commended the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association for what he termed decades of professional excellence and principled advocacy. He said the global recognition further reinforces Olanipekun’s standing as an influential figure in constitutional and commercial dispute resolution.
The governor noted that the latest ranking affirms Olanipekun’s contributions to jurisprudence, legal scholarship and the promotion of the rule of law. He added that the award places the senior advocate among leading figures in the international legal community.
Oyebanji highlighted Olanipekun’s career trajectory, recalling his elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 1991 at the age of 39. He also referenced his leadership roles as President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chairman of the Body of Benchers, and leader of Egbe Amofin in Yorubaland.
The governor urged the legal icon to sustain his commitment to professional excellence and continue contributing to the development of the legal system in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.
Olanipekun, principal partner at Wole Olanipekun & Co., was recognised in the Chambers and Partners 2026 Rankings for his longstanding impact in dispute resolution practice. The annual rankings assess legal practitioners globally based on professional performance, influence and client feedback.
President Bola Tinubu also extended congratulations, describing the recognition as a reflection of sustained dedication to constitutional law and advocacy. He noted that Olanipekun’s career has strengthened democratic institutions and advanced legal thought in Nigeria.
