Chude Jideonwo Responds to Speculation About His Sexuality
Popular Nigerian media personality Chude Jideonwo has stirred online conversations after claiming that many married gay people live in Lagos.
Chude made the statement while reacting to speculation about his sexuality following an interview he recently granted to Television Continental.
In a clip from his appearance on The Clarity Zone Podcast, the media entrepreneur addressed the rumours and dismissed claims suggesting that he might be gay.
Reaction to Online Speculation
According to Chude, some social media users began speculating about his sexual orientation after the TV interview circulated online. Responding to the comments, he remarked that the city of Lagos itself has many people living double lives.
He stated, “When the TVC interview came out, people were saying maybe I’m gay. I’m like Lagos is full of married gay people.”
The comment quickly sparked debate across social media platforms.
Concern Over Ritual Advertisements Online
During the same podcast discussion, Chude also raised concern about what he described as the increasing number of ritual and native medicine advertisements on social media platforms.
He expressed surprise at how openly such services are promoted online and how many people appear to interact with the advertisements.
Chude recounted seeing individuals promoting ritual practices on TikTok, with some even broadcasting live from shrines.
According to him, users watching these broadcasts were asking how they could contact the advertisers.
“One of the women was live from her shrine, and people were asking, ‘Mama, how can I reach you?’ with a phone number,” he said.
Social Media Reactions
His remarks have since generated mixed reactions online. While some people interpreted his statement as criticism of societal hypocrisy, others questioned the claim and debated the broader issues surrounding sexuality and social media culture in Nigeria.
Chude, known for his interviews and commentary on social issues, often discusses topics related to culture, media, and personal experiences through his podcast and public appearances.
The latest comments have once again placed him at the center of an online conversation about social norms, public perception, and the influence of digital platforms.
