Akpabio wants politicians to work together and in unison to address Nigeria's problems.

Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate, has urged for lawmakers to work with a reinvigorated sense of patriotism and commitment to nationhood in order to help Nigeria overcome its problems with insecurity, poverty, the push for good governance, and other matters that impact Nigerians.

The Senate President spoke to his colleagues on Tuesday as the plenary resumed following their lengthy annual break. He emphasized the need of maintaining harmony, working together, and remaining steadfastly committed to meeting the difficulties.

The MPs will discuss important legislation, solve urgent concerns, and work to create consensus so that the country may forward swiftly, according to Akpabio, who made this announcement.

“It is imperative that we put aside personal differences and work together with renewed patriotism and dedication to nationhood in the face of rising poverty, insecurity, and public agitation for good governance,” he continued.

“The challenges we face demand unity, cooperation, and steadfast commitment to addressing the problems that affect the lives of all Nigerian citizens, mindful that the decisions we make affect the lives and livelihoods of numerous Nigerian citizens and that the responsibilities we bear are heavy.”

The Senate President also urged the legislators to maintain their will in order to overcome the obstacles that have impeded the nation’s progress and prosperity in recent years.

He urged everyone to put the interests of our great nation first by upholding the principles of democracy in all engagements, processes, and procedures and working diligently towards a more secure, prosperous, and united Nigeria. “Be mindful that our constituents look to us for leadership and hope, and we must not falter in fulfilling our responsibilities to them,” he said.

With the politicians’ help, Akpabio argued, Nigeria’s problems could be solved and progress toward a better nation could be made.

“I have no doubt that all of your endeavors will be successful thanks to your commitment, smart advice, and integrity.

“Evidently, as with all democratic institutions, there are concerns at various levels of governance, while dissent and differing opinions are integral to our democratic process, I urge us all to focus on the greater good of our nation, anchored on the pursuit of our common good, interests of our constituents, and protection of our fledgling democracy,” the Senate President said.

On all topics of national importance, he urged the senators to cooperate, engage in open and constructive discourse, and act in a spirit of unity, noting that it is only through such discourse that we can ensure the best results for all Nigerian citizens.

Be reminded as you carry out your official legislative obligations that, despite having different perspectives, we are all working to improve our country’s and our constituents’ quality of life. Akpabio furthered
