Multiple accidents in Ogun result in one death and three injuries.

Accidents that happened on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday and Monday left one person dead and three others with various degrees of injuries.

According to information obtained by Punch Metro, the first accident happened on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the Conoil region, and the second accident occurred on the same expressway in the Makun area.

Ismail Akinola, an eyewitness who saw the second accident, claimed that drivers’ inattentiveness was what caused the several collisions.

The truck carrying the container intended to move lanes, but it didn’t pay attention to the tipper vehicle next to it, he explained. When the tipper spotted the truck, it made an attempt to avoid colliding, but it was too late, leading to many collisions. I believe that the drivers’ lack of attention is to blame.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, confirmed the accidents and stated that seven people were involved in various accidents along the expressway, resulting in one fatality and three injuries.

“I can confirm that one person died in an accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the Conoil axis, which was brought on by speeding and a loss of control,” Okpe said. Yesterday at 18:25, a Man-diesel truck with the license plate LSR472XA was involved in a collision.

“Also, three people were hurt in a collision involving three vehicles on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the Makun area. Six people in total were involved in this collision that occurred this morning at a very early hour.

It involved a Cabstar vehicle, a Tipper truck with the license plate AAA136YC, and a Long Truck with the license plate T-13690LA.

She saw that while the injured victims were transported to a hospital for treatment, the deceased’s corpses were placed at the mortuary.

“The injured people have been taken to a hospital for treatment,” she said, “while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Idera morgue in Sagamu.”
