Kogi Governor: Free, fair, and acceptable to us in the election - Opposition parties

Political parties that took part in the Kogi State gubernatorial election on Saturday have applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission for following electoral procedures, stating that they found the poll to be free, fair, credible, and acceptable.

Speaking at a press conference in the state capital of Lokoja, Idrisu Bala Abdulgafar, the spokesperson for the political parties affiliated with the United Progressive Political Parties, Kogi State Chapter, said that the election was among the most peaceful in the state’s history and urged the All Progressives Congress to show generosity in winning.

“INEC released the results following a thorough compilation of data from each of the state’s 21 local government areas. The parties proclaimed, “We boldly say that this election was free, fair, credible, and therefore acceptable to us.”

Allied Peoples Movement (APM), African Action Congress (AAC), National Rescue Movement (NRM), Boot Party, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Action Democratic Party (ADP), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), and African Action Congress (AAC) are a few among them.

However, the parties charged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inclusive governance program must be upheld by the APC government and the new administration.

Alhaji Usman Ododo, the next governor, ought to offer a helping hand to every political party that endured hardships throughout the electoral process. All parties are involved in the work of constructing the state, according to the opposition.

They praised INEC for scrupulously adhering to the law to carry out what they called the most transparent, credible, and free election since the state’s founding.

In addition to congratulating the election winner, the UPPP said that the security agencies’ actions were free of coercion or intimidation and that they stood firm in their mission to monitor the election impartially.

In the interest of progress, the political parties urged all those involved in the election to respect democratic principles and allow peace to rule.

We are aware that some people who feel wronged might attempt to use the legal system to further their own agenda. The parties stated that there are other peaceful channels for law-abiding citizens to air their complaints.

The UPPP cautioned the Governor-Elect to make sure that the three senatorial districts are treated equally and without bias, and asked him to build on the state’s unity.
