Adamawa Police Arrest Two Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Stolen Vehicle

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have successfully apprehended two suspected armed robbers and recovered a stolen vehicle. This development was announced by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, in a statement on Friday, June 7, 2024.

According to the statement, the suspects were involved in an attack on Daiso Kyrian in Awka, the capital of Anambra State. The incident occurred on April 12, 2024, when the armed robbers shot Kyrian and stole his Lexus Jeep RX 330.

"On May 20, 2024, the Adamawa State Police Command received a complaint from Daiso Kyrian regarding the attack and theft," the statement read. Following the report, the command’s surveillance team launched a thorough investigation.

Their efforts led to the arrest of Saidu Mohammed, a 30-year-old resident of Gombi LGA, who was found in possession of the stolen vehicle. Further investigation resulted in the apprehension of another suspect, 25-year-old Rabiu Idris, also from Gombi LGA.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the officers involved in the operation and reiterated the command’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the state. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
