Trump and Biden rush to a rematch as Haley withdraws.

President Joe Biden and Donald Trump are going to have a nasty repeat in November. Nikki Haley, Trump's last Republican opponent, threw in the towel after losing badly in the "Super Tuesday" elections.

Former UN ambassador Haley made it clear that she would not support Trump, whom she had called disorganized and mentally unfit, saying that he would have to win over moderates who backed her unlikely campaign.

With her exit, the race for the White House is now between two old men that many voters say they don't want. Meanwhile, Trump is ignoring the multiple criminal charges against him and the scandal surrounding his attempt to steal the 2020 election in order to make a comeback.

"We must turn away from the darkness of hate and division," Haley, who is 52 years old, said in Charleston, South Carolina, which is her home state.

She only said, "I wish him well" when talking about Trump, who wants to be president again.

She was also upset about the US's "retreat" from world problems like Ukraine, where Trump and his far-right Republican supporters are blocking aid to help Kyiv fight the Russian attack.

Biden, meanwhile, won all of his Democratic "Super Tuesday" votes, but now he has to get ready for Thursday's State of the Union speech. This is a big event for the unpopular 81-year-old as he tries to calm voters' worries about his age, the economy, and the war in Gaza.

Both guys quickly made their case to Haley's group of mostly wealthy, pragmatic Republican supporters.

Trump told the crowd that he had "TROUNCED" Haley and asked them to "join the greatest movement in the history of our nation." Biden praised her for being brave in telling the "truth about Trump" and told her fans they could join his campaign.

This year's Super Tuesday didn't have as much drama because Biden and Trump pretty much locked up their parties' choices before the first vote was cast.

On the most important day of the 2024 race so far, former President Trump, 77, won 14 of the 15 states that were up for grabs. Haley was only able to hold him off in Vermont, which is in the northeast.

"It's called "Super Tuesday" for a reason," Trump told cheering fans at his Florida beach club, Mar-a-Lago. He said, "They tell me that there has never been one like this, never been anything so conclusive."

Trump is different from any other US presidential candidate in history because he has been impeached twice, lost by seven million votes in 2020, and is facing 91 criminal charges in four cases.

This has been one of the most unfair primary seasons ever, but his support among working-class, rural, and white supporters on topics like immigration and the economy has pushed him toward the election.

Todd Belt, a politics professor at George Washington University, told AFP, "This means the campaign will continue to be Trump's tour of personal grievance."

He also finally got the support of Mitch McConnell, the Senate Republican Minority Leader. McConnell and Trump had a fight over Trump's false claims that he had won the 2020 election.

Biden, on the other hand, quickly won all of his races (except for American Samoa, a small island in the Pacific Ocean), and he warned that Trump was "determined to destroy" US democracy.

In less than 48 hours, Biden will give his State of the Union address. He is likely to use it to make the election seem like a clear choice between him and a threat to the Constitution of the United States.

But even though the race is a repeat, Trump has a small lead in recent polls. This is different from four years ago, when Biden had a bigger edge.

Some voters in Minnesota and other states marked their ballots with "uncommitted" in protest of Biden's support for Israel's attack on Gaza. This is another red flag.

Trump is also getting red lights, even though he did very well on Super Tuesday. There are signs that the chaos and scandal surrounding him could turn off traditional voters in key split states.

Biden got Stephanie Perini-Hegarty's vote in Quincy, Massachusetts.

This 55-year-old man told AFP, "I think we need a leader who is not corrupt and who will look out for the best interests of the people."
