Residents' grain distribution committee formed by FCT Administration

Residents' grain distribution committee formed by FCT Administration
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has set up a group to figure out how to get food to people in the country who are struggling because things are so hard right now.

This comes a few days after the FCTA Agriculture Store was broken into in the Gwagwa/Karmo area of Abuja, the country's capital.

The group, which was formed on Wednesday, had less than two weeks to carry out the order.

At a meeting with Area Council leaders on Wednesday, FCT Minister of State Dr. Mariya Mahmoud told them who would be on the group.

Mahmoud was angry that the council leaders didn't take the call to the first strategic stakeholders meeting seriously. He warned them not to do anything that would hurt the President's good intentions for the people who live in the area.

It was yesterday that we got this letter from the Presidency through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). As you all know, a few days ago we were in Gwagwa, where some youths attacked our warehouses. Everything there was packed up, including the roof, the gates, and the machines we were using to make some of the food we were storing there.

"In that way, God Almighty has given us a way out."

"Everyone knows that Mr. President Bola Tinubu has been going back and forth to figure out how he can help the country cope with its problems, especially the lack of food security." We've been meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture to get a lot of things that we need to give to people to show that Mr. President cares about us.

So, this letter asked the Honorable Minister of FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, to set up a meeting with key players that was seen as important.

They are here to make sure that we set up some groups to make sure that the distribution of these painkillers that we are about to get is clear. They will also help us get ready before these things are sent to FCT to be distributed.

"This is why we set up this meeting." When we got the letter, it said it had to be taken care of in two weeks. "FCT will be able to send everything they need from us before the two weeks are up, and we got the letter on February 29," she said.

Chairmen of Area Councils, the FCT Emergency Management Agency, Traditional Rulers, the Department of State Service, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, faith-based groups, the National Union of Local Government Employees, the Nigeria Red Cross Society, the Women's Association, the Persons with Disability Group, the Youth Associations, the Principal of Boarding Schools, and members of the media were among the people Mahmoud named as members of the Committee.
