Zack Orji defied medical advise and left National Hospital – CMD

The management of the National Hospital, Abuja, has refuted claims that it referred veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji to a private facility for further treatment. 

The hospital clarified that Orji's family took him away against medical advice, even as he was being prepared for surgery after stabilization. 

The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Muhammad Raji Mahmud, explained that Orji was admitted on New Year's Eve, stabilized in the intensive care unit, and later moved to the ENT ward.

The family signed a form "Leaving Against Medical Advice" on January 1, 2024, disrupting preparations for surgery. The hospital wishes Orji a speedy recovery despite the circumstances. 

Orji was subsequently reported to have undergone successful brain surgery at a private hospital in Wuse.
