During Tuesday's flag-off ceremony for the distribution of rice to the five South East States, Uzodimma made the appeal at the CAN Secretariat in Owerri.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), President Tinubu gave the rice as a Christmas present and took further palliative steps to lessen the suffering of the populace.
The governor expressed gratitude to God for his blessings in enabling the people to overcome the obstacles of 2023 and promised that everyone's life will be much better in 2024.
He recalled that President Tinubu had implemented a number of measures on May 29, 2023, with the goal of strengthening the Naira, expanding the economy, generating jobs for the unemployed, and overall making Nigeria great once more.
"Even if some of those policies had drawbacks at first, such as the high price of products on the market, the rules are designed to alleviate these drawbacks.
Palliative supplies were provided by the federal and state governments in Imo State at the close of the previous year, and they made every effort to get the supplies to all of the state's corners.
"Christmas is celebrated as a very serious festival in the South East, where 80 percent of the population is Christian," he stated.
The governor emphasized the need of giving citizens assistance and various forms of support, especially during the holiday season, and reaffirmed the President's commitment to safeguarding their well-being.
He clarified that none of the truck loads of rice that arrived to start the distribution originated from the federal or state governments. Instead, these are presents to the South East from President Tinubu himself to Christians.
Since all Christians in the region are covered by CAN, the governor stated that he made the decision to involve Imo State CAN in order to guarantee a smooth distribution.
Nonetheless, he stated that the logistics of transporting the truck loads of rice to all of the South East states of Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Imo will be handled by the Imo State Government in cooperation with CAN.
The CAN Chairman in Imo, Rev. Eches Eches, praised President Tinubu's efforts to ensure the welfare of the people in his welcome speech.
A compassionate lover of God and mankind, who advances the interests of the Igbo people on the national arena, is how he also characterized Uzodimma.
Eches also praised Uzodimma for her dedication to improving Imo State's Christian community.
According to NAN, the governor received an African Study Bible as a gift from the five CAN Chairmen of the South East States in recognition of the work he had been doing for the community and the church.
