The Cross River Government is taking steps to control a cholera outbreak in the Obubura and Biase Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.
Dr. Henry Ayuk, the Commissioner for Health, revealed this in Calabar, confirming one case in Obubura and two in Biase.
The ministry has activated an Emergency Operation Centre, with Dr. Blessing Ekpenyong appointed as Incident Manager.
Response commodities, including drugs from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), are being prepared, and the Rapid Response Team is deployed for case investigation.
Ayuk urged the public to strictly follow preventive measures like avoiding contaminated water and unripe fruits.
