The government of Cross River acts to contain the cholera outbreak in two LGAs.
The Cross River Government is taking action to control a cholera outbreak in Obubura and Biase, two Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state.

Cross River's Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Ayuk, revealed this in Calabar, confirming one case in Obubura and two in Biase.

The ministry has activated an Emergency Operation Centre, appointing Dr. Blessing Ekpenyong as Incident Manager to coordinate the response.

Response commodities, including drugs from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), are being deployed, and Rapid Response Teams are investigating cases and implementing measures to contain the spread.

Ayuk urged the public to strictly follow preventive measures, such as avoiding unsafe water and contaminated food.
