Son in Kano is detained by NSCDC for allegedly killing father
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State has apprehended a 25-year-old man, Alkasim Ya’u, for allegedly fatally stabbing his father at Tudun Yola 'C', Gwale Local Government Area.

According to NSCDC Corps Commandant Mohammed Falala, the incident occurred on Friday at around 1:30 PM at the residence of Alhaji Salisu Bala.

Alhaji Ya’u Mohammed, the deceased father, had brought his mentally ill son to Psychiatric Hospital Dawanau for treatment. Instead of returning to Katsina, the deceased decided to stay at his brother's house, leading to the tragic event.

The NSCDC intervened, taking the victim to the hospital and arresting the suspect. Investigations suggest Alkasim's mental illness resulted from involvement in drug activities.
