Seventh-day Adventist Church: Court will determine whether Saturday examinations and elections are permitted
The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled March 20 for judgment in a suit filed by a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Mr. Ugochukwu Uchenwa, seeking to prevent the conduct of elections and examinations on Saturdays.

Uchenwa, an elder in the church, argued that scheduling these events on Saturdays violated his and other members' freedom of worship.

He sought a declaration that this practice is unconstitutional or an order allowing him and fellow church members to vote or take exams on any other day of the week, including Sundays.

The defendants include the President, Attorney-General of the Federation, INEC, and others.
