PDP and NWC argue about Adams's chairmanship suspension in Ondo.
The conflict between the State Working Committee (SWC) and the National Working Committee (NWC) on Fatai Adams' removal as the party's chairman in the state on Wednesday gave rise to a new development in the crisis engulfing the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo State chapter.

The nine SWC members' suspension of Adams, according to the NWC, is void and will have no further consequences.

Due to suspected anti-party conduct, the state executive branch of the party suspended the state chairman on Tuesday.

Furthermore, Adams had previously declared that he was still the state chairman of the party, highlighting the fact that his alleged suspension was motivated by politics.

The PDP's National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, released a statement on behalf of the NWC, stating that the suspension did not comply with the party's 2017 amendments to its Constitution and set guidelines.

Ologunagba further emphasized that, in accordance with the party's constitution, the SWC was not authorized to consider or remove a state chairman without first consulting the NWC.

He called on the SWC members to go back, but he also revealed that the NWC will not hold back in opposing the progress.

"The PDP is a structured political organization that strictly upholds the terms of its Constitution and Rules, and it will not tolerate any individual or group, regardless of size, breaking these provisions."

Contrary to the NWC's stance on Adams' suspension, the SWC asserted that it had the authority to reprimand incompetent members of the executive branch at all tiers of the party hierarchy, including the ward, local government, state, and zonal levels.

Kennedy Peretei, the state publicity secretary for the party, claimed he was unaware of the party's constitution and the activities taking place within the state while characterizing Debo Ologunagba's statement on behalf of the NWC as embarrassing.

Since Fatai Adams, the State Chairman, is a member of the State Working Committee, he may face consequences for his actions, which show a blatant disdain for the choices made by the SWC. Thus, Fatai Adams' suspension is still in place.

Regretfully, it seems that Hon. Ologunagba—a native of Ondo State—does not possess current knowledge of the party in Ondo State. Had he, he would have been the last to make a claim that was so flagrantly false.

The suspension letter was signed by nine of the eleven members of the State Working Committee (SWC). That in and of itself is proof that Fatai Adams's tenure as State Chairman is past its prime.
