NNPP requests that the Taraba governorship be declared won by Bello by the Supreme Court.

On Tuesday, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) urged the Supreme Court to declare its candidate, Professor Yahaya Muhammed Bello, the winner of the March 18 Governorship Election in Taraba State. 

The party emphasized the importance of voters having the right to choose leaders through a transparent electoral process without duress, tension, or result manipulation. 

The Acting National Chairman, Alhaji ABBA Kawu Ali, cited evidence of poll result manipulations, overvoting, and violence during the election. 

The NNPP alleges that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ignored their request for a review of the election results. 

Ali appealed to the Supreme Court to restore faith in the electoral system and bring justice to Taraba State, calling for an investigation by the National Judicial Council into the conduct of certain judicial officers.
