Nine more terrorists and the head of the community in Katsina
Gunmen suspected to be terrorists attacked Kukar Babangida community in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing 10 people, including the village head, Maigari Haruna.

The incident occurred at 1:30 am when armed gunmen on motorcycles stormed the community, moving from house to house, harassing residents and looting valuables. The exact number of abducted villagers is unclear.

Despite the presence of over a dozen security checkpoints, including military, police, customs, and NDLEA along the Katsina-Jibia road, the area remains prone to security challenges.

Jibia has been consistently affected by various security issues, including killings, kidnappings, and animal rustling.

The proximity to a forest reserve, known as a hideout for terrorists, contributes to the region's vulnerability. Bishir Sabiu, the chairman of the local council, confirmed the attack and casualties.

Police spokesperson ASP Abubakar Aliyu had not responded to inquiries at the time of the report.
