N37b fraud: Umar-Farouq claims unable to see EFCC due to health issues
The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, has cited health challenges as the reason for her non-compliance with an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) related to an alleged N37.1 billion theft during her tenure.

The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, revealed that Umar-Farouq has requested an extension and sent a legal representative to the commission.

She also submitted a letter explaining her health challenges.

Despite this, the commission has mandated her to appear without further delay, as the investigation is ongoing and figures for the alleged transactions are still being traced.

Last week, the former minister was invited by the EFCC following a probe into her activities during her tenure.
