Lagos will impose laws and licenses on packaged water goods.

The Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission has announced its intention to enforce regulations and licensing for packaged water services in order to enhance the quality of water products for consumers in the state. 

During a meeting with the executive members of the Association for Table Water Producers (ATWAP) in Ikeja, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Funke Adepoju, reiterated the guidelines and regulations governing packaged water services. 

The provisions include registration and licensing of producers and facilities, with compliance marked as a sign of quality assurance displayed at their premises and on delivery vehicles. 

Automated processes from registration to licensing application will be implemented. 

The Commission aims to introduce certification plaques for licensed and compliant operators, emphasizing the importance of compliance to regulations and guidelines for packaged water services in Lagos State.
