With the assistance of the police, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) rescued a pregnant woman who had been assaulted by her partner.
Following a distress call, the agency responded to an alleged case of domestic violence, where the expectant mother was reportedly physically attacked and locked in their Mushin apartment.
The neighbors intervened, rushing her to the hospital. DSVA immediately contacted the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command, leading to the apprehension of the suspect.
While emphasizing the dangers of domestic violence, DSVA urged survivors to speak up, ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable.
The agency appreciated the neighbors for their intervention and encouraged reporting to authorities promptly.
