In 2023, customs in Kano, Jigawa, earns N52.7 billion.

The Nigeria Customs Service, Kano/Jigawa Command, reported a revenue of N52.7 billion for 2023, marking a 26.4 percent increase from the N41.7 billion collected in 2022, as stated by Comptroller Ibrahim Chana. 

The command excelled in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations, achieving voluntary compliance through regular sensitization and proactive engagement with businesses in Kano and Jigawa states. 

Chana acknowledged the support from various organizations, highlighted successful enforcement actions, and emphasized the importance of collaboration among government agencies. 

Additionally, he commended the recent focus on data analytics in customs operations, emphasizing its role in improving efficiency and planning. 

Chana also mentioned plans for stakeholder engagement and training sessions to enhance compliance and operations in the coming year.
