This notification was made by the Federal Ministry of Education and was endorsed by the Federal Scholarship Board Management.
For the academic year 2024, it stated, "The Mauritius Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology is inviting applications from eligible Nigerian students, both undergraduate and postgraduate."
"The application form can be obtained from the following websites: http://ministry-education.govmu.org or http://highereducationmauritius.com. It needs to be completed electronically, printed, and signed.
"Every applicant must have submitted an application to a public Higher Education Institution (HEI) of their choice (listed under Section 8) for at least one full-time on-campus program."
It is required of applicants to either get a conditional offer (letter of admission) from the public higher education institution of their choice in Mauritius and submit it with their scholarship application.
An acknowledgment notice from a public HEI in Mauritius attesting to the submission of the application and payment of the necessary application fees is another need.
"On or before April 19, 2024, all candidates must submit to the Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja, the fully completed application form and document listed under section 1-6 as part of their application."
In terms of eligibility requirements, applicants must be citizens of Nigeria; undergraduate students must be older than eighteen and not older than twenty-six by January 1, 2025.
Candidates for the postgraduate degree must not have turned 40 by January 1, 2025, and their official health certificates from accredited government hospitals are crucial.
The Federal Scholarship Board Management said, "Good WAEC result for undergraduate, Masters, and PhD, minimum of second class upper (2.1)".
