After paying a ransom of 10 million naira, Safiyanu and his companion Adamu Custom, who had been abducted on Monday night along the Akwanga-Andaha route, were freed at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a family member.
A family member, who requested to remain anonymous, revealed that they were set free by their kidnappers on the outskirts of Andaha town, behind an abandoned gas station on Bayan Dutse Road.
"A ransom of 10 million naira was paid, and they were released at approximately 9 p.m. behind the Maigwona filling station at Bayan Dutse Road," he claimed.
According to the source, the freed chairman claimed to have told someone that the kidnappers were Fulani, describing them as "small small boys turning them around bush parts."
Since then, the casualties have been brought to the Federal Medical Center in Keffi for examinations.
