Amotekun officers and commanders honor the late Akeredolu with a candlelit stroll
Commanders and officers of the South West Security Network (SWSN), commonly known as Amotekun Corps, organized a candlelight walk to pay tribute to the late Generalissimo of the formation, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. 


The event, attended by commanders from all five Southwest states, took place at Cathedral Junction in Akure, the capital of Ondo State. 


The commanders and officers, praising Akeredolu through chants, walked from Cathedral Junction to the Governor’s Office in Alagbaka, honoring the late Generalissimo.


This gesture, according to the commanders, served as a mark of respect for Akeredolu's significant contributions to establishing and ensuring the success of the Amotekun Corps. 


During their visit to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at the Governors’ Office, he expressed his commitment to supporting the formation initiated by Akeredolu, ensuring the security and well-being of Southwest residents.


The Corps Commander of Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye, leading all the Corps commanders, explained the purpose of the solidarity visit and the 5-kilometre walk, highlighting Akeredolu's impactful leadership in enhancing security in the Southwest. 


Adeleye reassured that the Amotekun Corps, backed by the commitment of Governor Aiyedatiwa, would continue the good work initiated by Akeredolu, emphasizing the Corps' contribution to immortalizing their great leader.


Colonel Olayinka Olayanju, the Corps Commander from Oyo State, affirmed that the Amotekun Corps had matured greatly and passed a stage that could pose fears of collapse. 


He expressed confidence in the continued success and operation of the Amotekun Corps, underscoring its growth over the years.
