This is stated in a thank-you and happy new year's message that the commissioner sent on Tuesday in Enugu via DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the state's police public relations officer.
The commissioner called on the state's criminal elements to take advantage of the New Year and God's gift of life to reconsider and turn from their illegal actions.
He claims that the Command will implement stricter crime prevention measures and make sure that unrepentant criminals are dealt with brutally in its effort to be more proactive in its policing techniques in the New Year.
"The command expresses gratitude to the Enugu State government and people for their support of the police in the battle against crime and criminality in 2023.
"The government, led by Governor Peter Mbah, security partners, and the law-abiding people of Enugu State would not have been able to provide the Command with the unwavering support that allowed it to achieve the amazing police achievements.
He remarked, "I, therefore, thank everyone and wish everyone a more peaceful and prosperous New Year, 2024."
The commissioner gave the locals the assurance that the command will expand on the state's policing achievements.
He continued, "In order to achieve this, the command will use a more proactive and creative policing strategy that will result in a safer, more secure, and more tranquil Enugu State."
