The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Edo State chapter has inducted a number of distinguished individuals into its Hall of Fame, including Dr. Ernest Umakhihe, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. The inductees include both medical professionals and non-medical individuals with established credentials.Thanking the NMA, Umakhihe said that being one of the few non-medical inductees made him especially interesting.
Providing a glimpse into the inductee's life, Dr. Imoisili Udoka, the chairman of the Edo State NMA, talked highly of the pioneering role played by Dr. Umakhihe. He further stated that the inductee's flawless performance in multiple ministries during his tenure as a Permanent Secretary made him an obvious choice for the honor.
She went on to call Umakhihe the Dean of PS and said that her numerous acts of kindness are unique.
Umakhihe was awarded double accolades at the event, according to the NMA. Afterwards, he received an honor for outstanding leadership after being admitted into the Edo NMA Hall of Fame.
Speaking from the Edo state Coordinator for the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Owoicho Samuel Amifofum, an overjoyed Umakhihe expressed his humility and honor at receiving the two honors.
Umakhihe declared, "I am incredibly humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award from the Nigeria Medical Association Hall of Fame, Edo State."
"This recognition highlights the important intersection between agriculture and healthcare and underscores our commitment to health and well-being."
He thanked the Nigeria Medical Association's Edo State section for the honor, stating that it would further solidify his desire to keep encouraging collaborations and cutting-edge strategies for a more wealthy and healthy country.
The purpose of the award, according to Drs. Ehondor Ogie Tada and Adewale Afolabi, the chairs of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), is to honor and recognize outstanding medical professionals as well as other deserving people.
