Umahi is acknowledged by Ohanaeze as Southeast Asia's political leader.
The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has been acknowledged by the factional apex Igbo socio-cultural organization Ohanaeze Ndigbo as the political leader of the Southeast area, along with the late Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, and other notable individuals from their era.

Ohanaeze said in a statement released by its Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, yesterday that the region was left with a vacuum due to the deaths of key figures who helped to shape the Southeast, including Ojukwu, Ekwueme, Drs. Michael Okpara, Sam Mbakwe, Pa Mbazulike Amaechi, and Chukwuemeka Ezeife. As a result, the region needed a strong leader with a thorough understanding of Igbo interests and values.

According to the group, Umahi is unquestionably the ideal peg in a round hole, acting as a catalyst and one of the Federal Government's "Renewed Hope Agenda"'s strongest pillars.

Isiguzoro went on to say that Umahi is the new political leader and focal point that will bring people together, instill confidence, and promote resilience since he has the traits and background needed to fill the void in the area.

The statement says as follows: "Ohanaeze is pleased to recognize Minister of Works, Dave Umahi as the worthy successor of esteemed leaders like Ojukwu, Ekwueme, and other prominent figures who have shaped the political landscape of the Southeast after an extensive search for a leader, who can guide the South East towards better political representation and a unifying rallying point."

"Umahi, a detribalized Nigerian administrator, has shown outstanding leadership by utilizing cutting-edge cement and concrete technologies to ensure fair distribution of road construction projects in all six geopolitical zones."Ohanaeze is eternally grateful to President Bola Tinubu for granting the Nigerian people the right to have Umahi serve as their representative. We commend him for constantly performing to the highest standards in the face of obstacles and sabotage while performing his job.

The Ndigbo group begs Umahi to fill the hallowed footsteps of Ojukwu, Ekwueme, and other famous leaders in order to address and lessen the difficulties that the people of the region confront.
