At the State House in Abuja, President Tinubu was sworn in by the ambassadors of Hungary, Rwanda, and Ukraine, Lorand Endreffy, High Commissioner of Rwanda, Christophe Bazivamo, and Ivan Kholostenko, respectively. He also gave assurances to foreign investors about the careful and predictable repatriation of funds and the simplification of the tax system.
The President assured the Rwandan High Commissioner that the funds will be processed quickly for release and that long-standing concerns about blocked cash are being taken seriously.
"On the continent, we are one family. We'll keep advocating for democracy and responsible leadership. I will continue to have an open door policy, and the Chief of Staff and the Minister of Foreign Affairs are also available.
To clear up any confusion, we are already addressing the problem of double taxation, and it will be appropriately streamlined to support the expansion of businesses. The President reiterated that Nigeria is both home and a safe sanctuary for investment.
According to the Rwandan High Commissioner, Rwanda's government was ready to improve bilateral ties with Nigeria by implementing new trade agreements and visa regulations.
During the event, President Tinubu requested that the Hungarian ambassador look into all possible avenues for forming partnerships, particularly in the fields of agriculture and food security, as well as how to best utilize the nation's technological know-how.
"We sincerely appreciate your concern for our students studying in your nation. Given our size, there is a great deal of potential for us to sustainably promote economic growth. The President declared, "We are prepared to strengthen our ties, particularly in the fields of agriculture and food security.
The Hungarian Ambassador listed several areas of cooperation, including education, agriculture, food security, security, and medical technology, and complimented the President for his audacious, brave, and strategic initiatives to reposition the Nigerian economy.
"Mutual respect is the foundation of our relationship, as my Prime Minister has always stated," he remarked.
The ambassador of Ukraine was informed by President Tinubu that Nigeria will always strive for world peace and harmony.
