DSC The event was verified by Adamu Shehu, the state's representative for the National Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Saturday.
Shehu reported that three stores, a stall, and a portion of a mosque were destroyed by the fire.
"The NSCDC Hadejia Divisional Office received a distress call regarding a fire outdoors at the Na Malam Zangi Shopping Complex, which is located in Bakin Kasuwa, Hadejia main market, on Friday at approximately 10:30 p.m.
"An emergency response team was dispatched to the scene right away to extinguish the fire, rescue any unburned property, and prevent any theft."
Shehu lamented that, regrettably, three phone and accessory stores, a stall, and a portion of a mosque had already been destroyed by fire when they arrived.
He clarified that it was yet unknown how the fire exactly spread.
However, an eyewitness reported that the fire originated from a spark from an electrical pole near one of the stores, according to an NSCDC spokeswoman.
Shehu claimed that locals, fire service personnel, and NSCDC personnel worked together to put out the fire.
Although he claims that there was no recorded causality in the incident, millions of naira worth of property and valuables were lost.
