The President's wife, Oluremi Tinunu, gave 250 elderly people in Bauchi State a donation of N25 million.
She mentioned the "Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme" (RHIESS) as a way to ease the suffering brought on by the government's elimination of the gasoline subsidy this year.
As to her statement, the project named "Better Days Ahead" aims to provide economic empowerment to senior individuals. It stems from a strong dedication to the welfare of the elderly population.
Oluremi Tinubu announced on Thursday, during the cash support to beneficiaries in Bauchi, that N950 million would be distributed to veterans of the Defence and Police Officers Wives' Association (DEPOWA) as well as elderly citizens in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.
Each state in the federation would receive N25 million, according to Aisha Bala Mohammed, the wife of the governor of Bauchi State and the Zonal Coordinator North East of RHIESS. According to Tinubu, "the goal of this program is to assist 250 elderly, vulnerable people who are 65 years of age or older across all 36 states in the federal system, the Federal Capital Territory, and veterans from the Defense and Police Officers' Wives Association."
"These chosen beneficiaries will receive a sum of N100,000 each," she stated. This is to lessen the impact of the current economic climate and our respected elders' burdens during this joyous occasion.
"We're determined to make sure this gift is given to every state equally. It is imperative that we stress the importance of giving our senior citizens top priority in our activities as the holiday season draws near. By extending our kindness to the elderly during this joyous time, we not only recognize their efforts but also the special experiences they have.
