The usage of scale machines at the Abakaliki rice mill is prohibited by the Ebonyi government.Since the use of scaling machines has been prohibited, the Abakaliki Rice Mill Owners Industry Association, along with the Ebonyi government, has started distributing real bushels for measuring rice.

Yesterday, at the official opening of the authorized bushel in Abakaliki, the association's chairman, Linus Obeji, gave a speech. According to him, the association's efforts to sanitize the mill against fraud were consistent with the new measuring gadget.

A task force was established, according to Obeji, to inspect and keep an eye on every store in the market to make sure that the recently implemented authentic bushel is being followed. He urged all members to strictly follow the new directive in order to increase sales, threatening to penalize any defaulter on behalf of the millers.

"Yes, in order to stop fraud, we bought real market bushels for measuring rice at the marketplace. We reject the use of scaling devices and false bushels.

This is thanks to an executive order issued by Governor Francis Nwifuru, who demanded complete sanity at the Abakaliki Rice Mill. We stand by this, and any member discovered to be disobeying the directive will face harsh consequences.
