The empowerment program of LEAP Africa generates $1.2 million for 170 youth organizations.A total of $1.2 million will be given to NO less than 170 youth development organizations around the nation.

The package, which was made possible by a private agreement and was started by LEAP Africa with funding from the Ford and MacArthur foundations, aims to empower young people to make significant contributions to the development of their nation.

At the Nigerian Youths Futures Fund (NYFF) launch in Abuja, Keyinde Ayeni, Executive Director of LEAP Africa, revealed this and stated that the goal was to gather enough money to assist young activism for national development.

"We have observed how young people are raising concerns about policies and programs," the speaker stated. We are requesting greater exposure and chances for them.

"We think that this will help society's good governance even more. We will be awarding around $1.2 million in grants to 170 organizations over the course of the next 12 months. The funds are divided into three categories: development, catalysts, and individual.  They'll go through a grant administration program.

"The grants, awarded through NYFF, are not mere allocation of resources, but the ignition of a movement that will shape the Nigeria we desire," stated Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who also inaugurated the initiative.
