The EFCC warns the whole community about hoarding loot and starts looking for Nigerian loot overseas.
Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has outlined the strategy for the commission's pursuit of foreign nations that have funds that have been forcibly removed from Nigeria.

Olukoyede revealed this information on Saturday in Abuja during a road walk to commemorate the 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day. He claimed that the nations that store money that has been unlawfully removed from Nigeria are more corrupt than Nigeria itself.

"We are sending a warning to country warehousing our loot," he declared. We, the entire global community, will pursue you for our money.

"Those who hoard Nigeria's wealth are even more corrupt than the country itself." Are they not even more corrupt when they receive money that has been plundered from Nigeria and stored abroad? We'll pursue them and retrieve our funds for the advancement of Nigeria. He stated.

Olukoyede stated that activities that lead to corrupt practices will be discouraged and prevention will be given priority under the new EFCC leadership.

"Our three policy goals are as follows. One is to shift the emphasis of Nigeria's war on corruption from treatment to prevention, as treatment is never better than prevention. We'll encourage legitimate companies and instill financial responsibility in our surroundings.

We're going to close the gaps because when you promote opportunity, it arises. We won't hold off on pursuing money theft until it has occurred. We will only be pursuing three naira if we are successful in blocking seven naira, which will make our task much easier. Suppose they want to steal ten naira. We are going to pursue those who are plotting to embezzle money from Nigeria.

"As we enter a new budgetary period, rest assured that we have communicated to all of our financial gatekeepers that we will be cooperating with them. We'll track every released Kobo that is released. We'll see to it that the funds are utilized for the good of all Nigerians, not just a select few. Because it is a collective wealth, workers, retirees, students, and the elderly will all profit from it.

"No nation can advance while tolerating corruption. Although we are here to inform them that corruption is harmful, some people do not think it is. Although some individuals think Nigeria is doomed, this is untrue. We're going to put an end to corruption. He continued.

To advance the anti-graft campaign, he urged the Judiciary, Executive, and Legislative branches' support.

In a separate speech, Comrade Uchenna EKWE, Head of Country Operation for the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), expressed regret that the judiciary is encouraging people to steal and impeding the EFCC's ability to do its job if it can prolong a financial crime case for years.
