Students abducted from Nasarawa University released

After being abducted four days ago, seven students from the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) in Nasarawa State were set free.

In a phone interview with Channels Television, Ibrahim Ogabo, the president of the Student Representative Council, affirmed the release.

With the help of other security agencies and the military, the students were freed on Sunday night.

The students, who were abducted from their off-campus housing in Gandu hamlet on Wednesday, were three girls and four boys.

Students at FULAFIA immediately protested after the kidnapping event.

One of the six villages that are directly related to the school's grounds is Gandu Village.

More than 6,000 pupils can be accommodated there, especially those in the 300–500 level.
