Arewa Youth and Ethnic Youth Leaders have demanded that the National Judicial Council look into the circumstances surrounding Justice Donatus Okoro's allegedly leaked draft ruling from the Federal High Court, Abuja, which is scheduled to be delivered on Monday, December 18. This is in order to provide legal support to the pro-Wike members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who were fired and were already prohibited from representing themselves as lawmakers by a court order.
The group recalled that last week, an interim order was issued by a Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt, prohibiting the factional Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule, and his deputy, Hon. Dumle Maol, from forcibly entering the Assembly complex until the suit before it is heard.
They also brought up the fact that on Monday, the floor of the House, 27 members of the Assembly, led by Amaewhule, had announced their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The leaders observed that the lawmakers, who support Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, claimed that the primary cause of their defection was internal PDP disagreement at the national level.
But Arewa Youth leader Kabiru Yusuf revealed in a statement on Sunday on behalf of the Ethnic Youth Leaders that plans to give the pro-Wike Assembly members the legal standing as legislators and subsequently start the impeachment process against Governor Siminalayi Fubara were discovered in an allegedly leaked judgment prepared by Justice Okorowo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, scheduled to be delivered on Monday.

"A principal official of the pro-Wike group released the document on their WhatsApp network by accident yesterday and then quickly deleted it. The schedule calls for obtaining the written Justice Okorowo ruling, delivering it tomorrow, and serving the impeachment notice on Fubara on Tuesday.
He demanded that the NJC "investigate, intervene in this hatchet ruling by Okoro, which subverts the rule of law and abuses the court system to the highest degree and does not have negative implications for the judiciary but for the entire Nigerian democracy."
Additionally, this calls for chaos and blatant manipulation of the legal system, turning the once-respected final resort of the average person into a cash-and-carry item.
