Residents of Lekki are ordered by Lagos to unlock all street gates.

During this holiday season, the Lagos State Government is requesting that everyone living in Lekki Phase I, Phase II, and the surrounding areas open all of the street gates.

Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, stated in a statement that the gates should be open every day from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.

According to Osiyemi, the decision was required to facilitate vehicle travel and lessen any potential holiday-related traffic congestion.

"Both residents and guests can walk about smoothly and conveniently at this time by having the gate open.

"It is imperative to remember that noncompliance with this directive will result in penalties from the State Government."

The Commissioner gave residents assurances about the architecture required to ensure everyone's safety and security.
