Reps. from the Southern Caucus lament Akeredolu and call him a voice for reason.
The Ondo state administration and the immediate family of the late state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), have received the sincere condolences of the House of Representatives' Southern Caucus.

The caucus, led by Nicholas Mutu, expressed grief on the governor's passing.

In a statement released by its secretary, Afam Victor Ogene, the caucus expressed sympathy to the members of the Ondo State House of Representatives for the passing of the late governor, who was lovingly remembered by his friends, fans, and associates as Arakunrin or Aketi.

Former NBA President Arakunrin was characterized as an accomplished legal luminary, an intellectual, and a brave voice of reason whose uniqueness and unwavering position on matters of societal and national significance were never in question.

"Aketi was a charismatic personality who, with passion, grace, and fearlessness, contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria's legal profession and democracy," Ogene continued.

"His love for his people was so great that there was never any doubt about his position on issues pertaining to the Yoruba race, the South, or his own constituents, the Ondo people.

"Until the very end, Arakanrin was a steadfast supporter of equality and justice in the Nigerian system, speaking out for his people and fighting for their rights.

The country will mourn Aketi. It is true that the South West has lost a warrior. A valiant combatant. In addition, a giant, an intellect, and a voice have left the legal profession.

As a caucus, we ask the good Lord to give his family the strength to endure this great leader, family guy, and father's sad departure. May his spirit rest in the arms of his creator forever.
