Ododo urges Nigerians and Kogites to embrace the nation-building spirit this Christmas.
On the anniversary of Christ's birth, Kogites and Nigerians are urged by the incoming governor of Kogi State, Hon. Ahmed Usman Ododo, to embrace the nation-building spirit and make sacrifices for the betterment of their country.

The Governor-Elect stated in a statement that the occasion of Christ's birth is a time "for deep reflection on the need to think and act in manners that bring glory to our nation."

"Christmas holds great importance for Christians and is currently happening. On this historic occasion, as we commemorate the birth of Christ and his dedication to humanity, I rejoice alongside Nigerians and Christians.

"This is a time for serious introspection and dedication to behaviors and mindsets that can support the development of our country. Christ gave his everything to serve and redeem humanity, without holding anything back.

"As citizens and leaders, we must never stop reminding ourselves of the importance of standing up for the weak and providing for the underprivileged in our community. With the correct policies and a strong sense of patriotism, we must advance our country.

"It is encouraging that our party and its leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, have demonstrated a great and unwavering dedication to humanitarian endeavors by implementing well-thought-out policies to end poverty and provide meaningful employment for the populace.

"Honoring the President and Leader's Renewed Hope Agenda, His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello has implemented policies that have significantly decreased poverty in Kogi State."

When the Governor-Elect takes office in January 2024, he has pledged to continue the good work started by Governor Yahaya Bello.

"We have closely observed an administration that has redefined Kogi State's role in the national polity and been equitable toward all religions and ethnic divides for the past eight years," he said.

"We will build upon these legacies when we take the big shoes in January." The people of Kogi State have employed me to serve them. Together with my team, I will serve the state with the utmost accountability and unwavering dedication to its advancement.

"As a platform for prosperity and development, we will defend the interests of all ethnic and religious persuasions and foster an unbreakable bond among the people," he declared.
