Northern Governors promise to follow the regional rubost strategy in order to combat terrorism.The governors of the 19 Northern States gave 180 million naira to support the victims of a drone strike in the Tudun Biri hamlet in Kaduna State, and they pledged to pursue a strong regional approach in fighting terrorism in the region.


In response to the tragic bombing event at Tudun Biri in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where some community members lost their lives and property and others suffered varying degrees of injuries, the Forum expressed its condolences to the government and people of Kaduna State.


The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) Chairman, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, read a statement in which he stated, "The Forum resolved to work collectively to ensure that the tragic incidence is thoroughly investigated to compensate victims and take corrective measures to prevent future occurrence."


In addition, the Forum decided to actively promote the North's interests collectively in the areas of increased security, harmonious coexistence, economic growth, young employment, drug abuse, and revitalizing education at all levels.


Alhaji Yahaya stated: "The Forum applauded the Federal Government for the redoubled efforts in combating the region's problems with terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and intercommunal violence.


In addition to addressing the core causes of insecurity like poverty, unemployment, and widening social inequality, the Forum resolved to "stand united in its commitment to addressing those challenges through enhanced collaboration with security agencies, strengthening local law enforcement, community engagement, adoption of modern technology, and administrative reforms."


Additionally, he said that the NGF has made a commitment "to address the environmental challenges affecting Northern Nigeria which are threatening rural livelihood, driving farmers into conflict with herders, and raising the overall level of income inequality and insecurity."


He said, "The Forum further resolved to invest in infrastructure, human capital development, trade, commerce, agriculture, environment, digital economy, and cultural exchanges in order to collectively fastrack regional integration."


"The Forum formed a committee to review the Report of the previous committee on NNDC operations with a view to repositioning the Company for greater productivity and profitability after receiving a briefing from the Group Managing Director on the activities of the New Nigerian Development Company (NNDC)."


The Forum came to a consensus to provide support to the Kaduna State Government and the victims of the bombing incident at Tudun Biri Community, Igabi Local Government Area. Specifically, the victims will receive a donation of N180,000,000.00.
