No rush to National Hospital for Akpabio, says a media assistant

No rush to National Hospital for Akpabio, says a media assistantReports that Senate President Godswill Akpabio passed out during Thursday's 61st birthday colloquium in Abuja have been refuted by the senator's media team.

The former governor of Akwa Ibom reportedly passed out during the celebration and needed to be taken to the National Hospital by ambulance.

However, the media team refuted the stories in a statement that was signed by Eseme Eyiboh, calling the allegations "fictionalized extensions of the Senate President's assertion of being tired at the end of the program."

Some news stations on social media that are well-known for spreading fake news flashes have spread the rumors.

It is unsettling that rumors about the Senate President's health surfaced just after the elite of the country's leadership praised him at a colloquium aimed at outlining a legislative agenda for Nigeria.

"Akpabio spoke for over thirty minutes while standing up. President Bola Tinubu's statement to some that he was exhausted progressed to a fainting spell or fall as the event came to a finish and he exited the venue.

In their exciting work of fiction, some daring liars even asserted that he is presently in critical condition at the National Hospital in Abuja.

"This is completely false, and I adamantly state that, aside from declaring to people in his immediate vicinity that he was tired, he was in no way taken to the national hospital on a stretcher or considered indisposed.
