From Wednesday to Friday, there should be sunshine and haziness nationwide, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet).


In the northern area, sunny and hazy skies are predicted by NiMet's Weather Outlook, which was announced in Abuja on Tuesday. During the forecast period, there will be a few patches of clouds over sections of Taraba state.


NiMet predicts sunny, hazy skies across the North-Central areas and a few isolated cloud patches over portions of the states of Kwara, Kogi, and Benue throughout the forecast period.


Over the inland states of the South and the coastal towns in the morning, cloudy skies with sunny spells are predicted.


Thunderstorms are predicted to pass over sections of the states of Edo, Ondo, Abia, Imo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Delta later in the day.


On Thursday, throughout the forecast period, Nimet predicts a dust haze over the northern region.


It states that over the course of the forecast period, sunny and hazy skies are anticipated across the North Central region.


Over the southern inland states and the coastal regions, cloudy skies with sunny spells are anticipated in the morning.


It stated, "Thunderstorms are expected over parts of Edo, Imo, Abia, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states in the afternoon and evening hours."


The agency predicted a dust cloud to pass over the northern area on Thursday throughout the forecast period.


It states that during the forecast period, bright and hazy skies are expected across the North Central region.


"In the morning, cloudy skies with sunny spells are predicted over the coastal cities and the inland states of the South."


"Thunderstorms are predicted later in the day over portions of the states of Edo, Abia, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Delta," the statement stated.


The public was warned by NiMet to take the appropriate safety measures because dust particles will be suspended.


It also cautioned those who suffer from asthma and other respiratory conditions to be mindful of the current weather.


Flash floods could result with moderate to severe rainfall. The general public is urged to drive and walk away from floodwaters and to exercise the appropriate caution.


"The public is advised to take necessary safety precautions as strong winds are likely to precede and accompany the thunderstorms."


To prevent property and human casualties during the rainy season, disaster risk managers, agencies, and individuals should take preventative measures.


"It is recommended that airline operators obtain up-to-date weather reports from NiMet to facilitate efficient planning of their operations."
