Niger government and Tata ink memorandum on automated farmingThe TATA Group of Companies and the Niger State Government have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding emergency agricultural intervention.


The goal of the agriculture intervention agreement signed in Abuja is to involve the youth of the State in the provision of mechanized services, according to a statement made by the Chief Press Secretary to Niger State Governor Bologi Ibrahim.


The Memorandum of Understanding states that TATA Group will supply resources, expertise, and technology, and that the State Government will assist with infrastructure development, asset acquisition, and commodity price stability.


In addition to ensuring food security and creating long-term jobs for the State's hordes of young people, the agreement is anticipated to boost agricultural productivity, yield, and incomes.


The agreement also stated that planter, sprayer, and harvester services will fall under Phase Two, while plow, harrow, ridge, and trailer services will be provided by young graduates acting as Managed Service Providers (MSPs) under Phase One.


Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago signed on behalf of the State Government, while Engineer Chijoke Okoli, the Country Director of TATA Africa Services Nigeria's Agriculture and Construction Equipment Division, signed on behalf of the business.


The governor voiced hope that the Memorandum of Understanding will be implemented and produce the intended outcomes.


TATA, an established global corporation, promised to fulfill its end of the bargain, according to Engr. Chijoke Okoli, Country Director, Agriculture and Construction Equipment Division, TATA Africa Services Nigeria.
