In his speech at the Jama'atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Central Council Meeting in Minna, Niger State, the Minister expressed gratitude for the joint efforts of traditional and religious leaders in calming tense minds following the regrettable Tudun Biri event.
"It is with a deep sense of empathy that I convey the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's heartfelt condolences over the death of scores of Muslim faithful in Tudun Biri, Kaduna state due to an error by the Nigerian military in a drone attack," he stated. May Allah Subhanahu Waata'ala grant us all the strength to endure this sad event. May Allah comfort the living toward their physical, spiritual, and psychological healing, and grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus, Ameen.
"President Tinubu has called for calm while the authorities thoroughly investigate the incident and has expressed how worrying and "painful" the "bombing disaster" was to him. As a result, he has directed a thorough and full-fledged investigation into the incident."
Idris remembered that the President had dispatched a high-ranking team from the Federal Government, headed by Vice President Kashim Shettima, to express sympathy and sympathies to the government and people of Kaduna state, particularly to the residents of Tudun Biri who had been impacted by the regrettable event.
He said that as part of a non-kinetic response to the issues of banditry and kidnapping in the North, the President had since approved the launch of the FULAKO Initiative, in which the Federal Government will construct homes, clinics, schools, veterinary hospitals, empowerment initiatives, and solar energy.
"President Tinubu's unique humanitarian response to the effects of banditry in our communities is the Fulako Initiative, which will be implemented in the states of Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, and Benue," he said.
The Minister further exhorted all relevant parties, including Jama'atu Nasril Islam, Traditional Rulers, Islamic Scholars, and others, to join President Tinubu in establishing a new charter for national values and beliefs that will be known as the "Values Charter for Nigeria."
Additionally, in keeping with President Tinubu's goal for a genuine and long-lasting realignment of national values and attitudes, I had the honor last week of appointing a Committee of distinguished experts to work on and finalize a Values Charter for Nigeria.
The Nigerian Promise and Citizen Codes, which define our fundamental principles as Nigerians while fully acknowledging our ethnic, cultural, and linguistic diversity, would be included in the new charter that the president will present early in the following year. Its goal is to instill in every Nigerian a fair awareness of our obligations and rights as members of the world's largest black nation.
The Minister explained to the religious assembly that President Tinubu's vision for Nigeria is comprehensive and embodied in his Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to improve governance delivery, diversify and innovate faster, build infrastructure with a focus on health and social investment, ensure national security, achieve food security, and build infrastructure.
According to Idris, the 2024 Renewed Hope Budget implicitly reflects the scope of the Tinubu administration's planned national transformation, which involves, among other things, the extension of the national social register and reforms in the areas of taxation, foreign exchange, and fiscal policy.
Therefore, it's critical that all of our communities are fully informed about the N75 billion Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme and Palliative Programs. These programs aim to support one million nanobusinesses throughout Nigeria by providing grants of up to N50,000 to transporters, merchants, artisans, and other service providers.
The good news is that the state governments are moving on with their plans to deploy CNG-powered buses, which will help mitigate the effects of the removal of gasoline subsidies.
