According to the Ministry of Aviation, measures are being developed to guarantee that, starting in January, customers on commercial airlines operating in Nigeria would get compensation for delayed or cancelled flights.This was said by Mr. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation, during his appearance before the Joint Committee of the National Assembly on Aviation about the defense of the 2024 budget.
As part of its efforts, he said, the ministry also intends to release in the public on a weekly basis the list of airlines that have canceled or delayed flights.
"I have made a call to the customers' satisfaction commission about how Nigerians are treated."And I mentioned this in my most recent speech, which I delivered at our retreat in Warri and during our stakeholders' conference in Lagos.
He remarked, "I said on a weekly basis, please publish the list of airlines that do not fly, as well as when the flights were cancelled, delayed, and how many hours they were delayed."
Keyamo continued, saying that the regulator actually produces a report for each delay. How did they act? Did they make a payment of compensation?
